Clean Energy Pioneer and Entrepreneur Chad Troutwine Scheduled to Speak at the 2007 British American Business Council’s Transatlantic Conference in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – April 26, 2007 – Entrepreneur, real estate developer and clean energy pioneer Chad Troutwine will speak on “Shaping a Better World by Design” at one of the most important transatlantic business development and networking events of the year, the annual conference of the British American Business Council.  Registration is open to the public.
            The two-day conference called FUTURE NOW will bring together prominent business leaders from the United Kingdom and the United States to discuss how the digital revolution is changing the entertainment industry, joint efforts to combat climate change, the outlook for renewable resources and homeland security. The conference will be held in Los Angeles May 17-18 at the Marina Del Rey Marriott.
            Troutwine is an innovative developer who this year started work on a $260 million clean energy campus in Kansas City, Mo., that showcases one of the world’s first commercial-scale cellulosic biofuel refineries. A representative of the Biodiesel Board and the Renewal Fuels Association, Troutwine will speak at 9 a.m. on the second conference day as part of a panel on energy efficient development.
            Joining him will be other prominent development industry leaders dedicated to a high standard of environmental awareness. Andy Howard is the chief operating officer for the Americas Region of Arup, a global design and business consulting firm. James C. Hankla is president of the Board of Harbor Commissioners in Long Beach.
            Other panels scheduled for the morning of May 18 will address environmental topics such as “A Race Against Time: Can Our Utilities Cope?” and “Wind, Sun, Sea & Biofuels – The Future Now.”
            Troutwine was recently named by Forbes Magazine as its Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He is the founder of several successful start-up ventures including Spectrum, a leading developer of loft-style historic renovation in Kansas City, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. He is also the co-founder of Veritas Prep, a recognized leader in standardized test preparation and graduate school admissions consulting, and Spectrum Station, one of the largest and most innovative early education centers in the United States.
            Troutwine obtained a law degree at the University of Missouri School of Law and an MBA at Yale University. He is also a film producer with movies that have premiered at the Sundance and Cannes film festivals and featured 22 Academy award nominees, including Nick Nolte, David Mamet, James Woods and Joel & Ethan Coen.
